Srirangam

Sri Vadirajaru begins Dakshina Prabandha with Sriranga, praising Ranganatha on Adishesha and associated sacred features. Chandra Pushkarini is retained within the Kshetra. The reference is retained here in the sequence of Sri Vadirajaru's pilgrimage so that a pilgrim can connect the present-day sacred place with the Kshetra or Tirtha praised in the Tirtha Prabandha.

Sthala Purana: Srirangam is the celebrated island Kshetra of Sri Ranganatha, situated between the Kaveri and Kollidam. Temple tradition traces the Ranga Vimana through Brahma and the Ikshvaku lineage to Sri Rama, who is said to have given it to Vibhishana. The Lord remained at Srirangam, reclining on Adishesha and facing south.
