Shri LakshmikAntha Teertharu was a geat Scholar.  He upheld the Vijayanagar Dynasty by helping the rulers re-established their kingdom with Penukonda as the Capital.

Miracle:

This incidence took place some years back when a railway line was being laid alongside the Brindavan of Shri LakshmIkAnta Teertharu. Authorities without the knowledge of this Great Saint’s Brindavan being there, covered it with mud and laid the new track over his brindavan. Next day morning when they returned to the spot to resume work, to their surprise they found that new track had got thrown away and completely broken. They relaid the track but every time they did that the track would be broken and thrown away the next morning. Then later on one night one of the engineers saw this great saint's brindavan and realized what may be happening. Railways then changed the track route away from the brindavan but still close to brindavan. You can see this when you go there.

Of the 732 Prana Devarus installed by Shri Vyasaraja Teertharu, around 365 are in Penukonda.  Given Shri Vyasaraja Teertharu's association with this place, Shri lLkshmIkantha Teertharu spent lot of time there worshipping the Prana Devarus and entered Brindavana in Penukonda. He had setup a learning center there. The remains of that can be seen today next to his Brindavana.
