RICE FLOUR VADA (VRATA)

Recipe 1 (For Vrata/Fasting)

Ingredients

Rice Flour - 1 Cup 
Salt - As required 
Cumin Seeds - 1 Tablespoon 
Oil - As required to fry
Water - 1 ½ Cup 
Curry Leaves - As Required 
Grated Coconut - ¼ Cup

Instructions

  • Boil the Water in a vessel
  • Mix Rice Flour, Salt, Cumin Seeds, Grated Coconut and Curry Leaves as required in a Bowl.
  • Gradually add the hot water in the Bowl and knead it well and make a firm dough.
  • Heat Oil in a Pan.
  • Take smaller portions of dough and roll them in small circular shape like a Vada.
  • Deep fry the Vada in the Pan. Wait until it turns golden brown.  You can fry 2-3 Vadas at a time in the Pan.
  • Serve with Chutney or Ketchup
