Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu led a multifaceted life before embracing the path of spiritualism. During his earlier years, he was actively involved in social work, notably serving as a member of the Indian National Congress and holding the presidency of the Mulbagal town municipal council for two terms. Later in life, he renounced the worldly pursuits and took sanyasashrama from Sri Vijayanidhi Theertharu, dedicating himself to the spiritual leadership of the mahasamsthana for 23 years. His interests spanned across various fields, including a deep understanding of Madhwa Siddhanta, a keen interest in Ayurveda, and a thorough engagement with current affairs and politics.

Upon assuming the role of a spiritual leader, Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu shifted his focus entirely towards the propagation of Madhwa Siddhanta and the developmental activities of the Mutt. His transition from a worldly leader to a spiritual guide marked a significant shift in priorities, where materialistic pursuits took a backseat to the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and service to the community.

In his previous life, Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu's father, Sri Krishnamurthy Achar, was actively involved in politics and later became a revered figure as the peetadhipathi of Sripadaraja Mutt, known by the name Sri Satyanidhi Theertharu or Shataayushi Swamiji. Following in his father's footsteps, Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu embraced a life of devotion and austerity, dedicating himself to constant Japa, Thapa, and Anustana, meditating fervently upon God with unwavering devotion towards Vishnu.

Throughout his spiritual journey, Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu achieved remarkable milestones and left a lasting impact through various initiatives and contributions. He initiated the publication of the monthly journal "Rangavittala," dedicated to propagating Dasa Sahitya, and transformed the landscape of Mulbagal with the establishment of significant institutions like the Rangavittala auditorium and Sripadaraja Puja Mandira. His contributions extended to the realms of education, with the establishment of educational institutions and hostels, and the preservation of cultural heritage, evidenced by his efforts in the publication of books related to Haridasa Sahitya and the installation of the Mrittika Vrundavana of Sri Padmanabha Theertharu.

Sri Vijnananidhi Theertharu's life was characterized by a relentless pursuit of spiritual knowledge and service to humanity. His legacy continues to inspire reverence and admiration, symbolizing the embodiment of devotion, wisdom, and selfless service. He completed a remarkable journey of 92 years, culminating in his attainment of Haripada on Bhadrapada Krishna Tryodashi at Mulbagal, leaving behind a profound legacy of spiritual leadership and societal upliftment.
