Sri Lakshmivara Theertha is the thirtieth saint in the lineage of Shiroor Mutt following Sri Vamana Theertha, and he currently holds the position of pontiff. He was born to Sri Vittala Acharya and Smt Kusumamma on June 8, 1964, at Madamakki in Kundapur Taluk, on the Vaishakha Bahula Tryodashi of the Krodhi Samvatsara. Sri Lakshmivara Theertha renounced worldly life and took Sanyasa from Sri Viswottama Theertha of Sri Sode Mutt on July 2, 1971.
His education in Vedic studies was under the guidance of Kodangala Sri Ananta Ramacharya. Throughout his spiritual journey, he received constant guidance from Sri Viswottama Theertha, as well as from Sri Narayana Tantri, Adde Sri Vedavyasa Acharya, and Alevoor Sri Seetharam Acharya. Additionally, he has been a disciple of Sri Vidyasagara Theertha of Krishnapura Mutt and Sri Satyapramoda Theertha of Uttaradi Mutt.
