Sthala Purana According to legend, Lord Narasimha manifested here on the banks of the Krishna River to protect sages performing penance. The deity is worshipped as Lakshmi Narasimha, and the kshetra is considered highly sacred for removing obstacles and granting moksha. The temple is also associated with Vedavyasa, hence the name Vedadri.
