Sthala Purana Yada Rishi performed tapas seeking the darshana of Narasimha. The Lord is traditionally said to have appeared before him in several forms, including Jwala, Yogananda and Lakshmi Narasimha, and to have remained in the cave for the benefit of devotees.
The original cave forms are revered as self-manifested manifestations of the Lord, giving Yadadri a distinctive combination of rishi-darshana and cave worship.
