Sthala Purana
The deity here is worshipped as Sri Abhaya Hastha Swayambhu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, where the Lord is believed to have manifested on his own (Swayambhu). The idol is unique, with Narasimha’s right hand raised in the Abhaya Mudra (gesture of protection), symbolizing assurance and fearlessness to devotees. Local lore narrates that sages performed penance here, and Narasimha appeared to bless them with protection and prosperity. The shrine is considered highly potent for removing obstacles and granting courage.
