SOOJI (RAVA) PONGAL (FOR SHAKHA VRATA)

The Plain Rava Pongal is an ideal dish for Shakha Vrata.

Ingredients

Sooji(Rava) – 2 Cups 
Ghee – 2 Tablespoon 
Pepper – 1 Tablespoon 
Cumin Seeds – 1 Tablespoon 
Moong Dal – 1 Cup 
Salt as Needed

Instructions

-  Roast Sooji (Rava) in a Kadai with little ghee and keep it aside. 
-  Fry the Pepper and Cumin Seeds in ghee and make it as a powder. 
-  Cook the Moong Dal in Pressure Cooker and mash it and keep it aside. 
-  Pour 4 cups of Water and let it Boil well.  Once it is boiled add Salt, prepared powder and Roasted Sooji (Rava) in the Hot boiling water and mix it gently making sure no lump is formed. 
-  After 2 minutes, gradually add the Mashed Moong Dal and mix them gently.  
-  Add Ghee little by little and stir it well until the rava is cooked. 
-  Once it is cooked and the Pongal hardens remove from the Stove and serve it hot.
