What are the Parishechana mantras to be recited in the morning and at night?

Pt. Shri. Vedavyasacharya

Food / Eating

Many people wonder:

  • Which mantra should we recite in the morning (pratahkaala) while doing parishchana?
  • Which mantra should we recite in the evening (sayankaala) or night while doing parishchana?

Some people recite it unclearly, some clearly, but the question is how it should be recited properly.

Mantras to recite

  1. Morning / Pratahkaala
When accepting food in the morning, recite:
    “Satyam Twaa Rithena Parishinchaami”
    • This is sometimes also said as: “Satyam Twaarithena Parishinchaami”
  2. Evening / Night / Sayankaala
When accepting food in the evening or at night, recite:
    “Ritham Twaa Satyena Parishinchaami”
    • This ensures the ritual is done correctly according to the scriptures.

In short:

  • Morning food → recite Satyam Twaa Rithena Parishinchaami
  • Evening/night food → recite Ritham Twaa Satyena Parishinchaami

This is the proper way to perform the parishchana ritual before eating.
