Is there a restriction on Kartha of the deceased Parent or blood relative, visiting Hill temples within a year of the demise of his Parent or the Blood relative?

Answered By Pt Sri Pranesh Achar (Ananda Rangan)

General

The restriction applies only to the kartha. The person who is responsible for performing the rituals should not go on such pilgrimages during that one-year period.

Other blood relatives do not have any ashoucha restrictions for the entire year. Therefore, relatives such as cousins, paternal uncle’s children, and other family members may undertake pilgrimages without any issue.

In short, only the person performing the rituals should avoid travel, while other relatives are free to go on yatra.
