Upadhi Khandanam - An Introduction

Upādhi Khaṇḍanam is Śrī Madhwacharya’s concise and powerful refutation of the idea that differences in the world are caused by “upādhis” — accidental or temporary limiting conditions. Some philosophies claim that all souls are actually one and only appear different because of these upādhis. Madhvacharya firmly rejects this, showing through logic and scripture that differences are real, natural, and eternal, not illusions created by external factors. In this short work, he establishes that each soul has its own unique nature and that the Supreme Lord, Vishnu, is eternally distinct from all beings. Upādhi Khaṇḍanam gives clarity to seekers by removing confusion about identity, difference, and the true structure of reality. The following audio offers an easy introduction to this important text.
